As a designated Music Friendly Community by the Texas Music Office, the music scene in Grand Prairie is rocking! Whether you’re looking for big names or a chill evening with some live music, Grand Prairie has abundant options from which to choose!

1. Uptown Theater

   Uptown Theater is presenting a cabaret full of talent that will run on the weekends from March 18-27!

2. Texas Trust CU Theatre

   Known for attracting national acts, this March the Theatre will welcome Peppa Pig Live! on March 18 and Todrick Hall on March 26!

    

3. Firehouse Gastro Park

   April 22-24, 2022, Main Street Fest will return to downtown Grand Prairie! With multiple stages, there’s music for every age and stage to enjoy… sometimes even at the same time! Keep an eye on its website to never mess an update!

For the Outdoorsmen & Women

Did you know you could go camping in the middle of DFW? Joe Pool Lake and its surrounding parks host several outdoors activities!

1. Loyd Park

   Have you been camping recently? Make it easy with a reservation at Loyd Park which is smack dab in the middle of Dallas-Fort Worth area! If tent camping is a bit ambitious for you, the park has cabins and glamping yurts for rent, too!

   In addition to staying on-site, there’s a beach with sand volleyball and picnic tables. You can also enjoy fishing areas, hiking trails, and the 4.9-mile Walnut Creek Paddling Trail (yes, you can rent kayaks, canoes, and SUPs).  

2. Lynn Creek Marina

   Rent a boat this spring break! Lynn Creek Marina offers tritoons, ski boats, fishing boats and other watercraft to keep your family on the water all day long! While you’re there, enjoy the Blue Sunshine Patio Bar & Grill which floats on the lake
3. Lone Star Trail

   Enjoy a true hidden gem (not even locals know about it): Lone Star Trail! Primarily used for walking and running, this paved trail is 6.8 miles and part of the larger Campion Trail (which you can tackle for an additional three miles). There are plenty of hidden gems around Grand Prairie that are popular with the locals! Check out something a little more off the beaten path!

1. Theo’s Bar and Grill

   This downtown staple is a favorite of City employees for lunch. Theo’s offers a sprawling menu filled with favorites (we’re talking patty melts and chicken fried steak) and some harder to find niche items (like liver and onions on Tuesdays)! Don’t forget to tell ‘em we sent ya!

2. Asia Times Square

   With hot pot and Korean corn dogs, Asia Times Square is a culinarian’s dream! Its food court is packed with Pan-Asian vendors and it’s also home to legendary The Pearl Restaurant & Lounge which offers authentic dim sum. Watch out for festivals here, too!

    

3. Zavala’s

   Maybe not considered a locals-only-spot anymore, Zavala’s has been a cult favorite for years. Now, with its place on Texas Monthly’s Best Barbeque in Texas list, you may have to wait a little longer in line. It’ll be worth it!
