Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Tourist Information Center is closed to public access.

The City of Grand Prairie is working with agencies to monitor the developing outbreak. Get the latest information...

The Tourist Information Center welcomes and assists more than 20,000 visitors to Grand Prairie, Texas, each year. Our volunteer travel counselors assist with directions, things to do in the area and primarily direct visitors to Grand Prairie attractions, hotels, restaurants, shopping, special events, etc.

Regular scheduled counselors work one specific four-hour shift each week. Each of those work shifts are currently filled, but "fill-in" positions are available (when permanent counselors are away), and a wait list is available for those interested in volunteering for a regular weekly shift.

Volunteers enjoy regular activities to network with other counselors and learn more about attractions and activities in the area, familiarization tours of hotels and attractions, pot luck dinners and just a fun environment.

If you would like to visit with travelers from all across the globe, can give directions and are proud to promote Grand Prairie as the exciting destination it is, view volunteer opportunities and apply online.

City volunteers are subject to background check and drug screening.
