Prairie Lights

Dates: Thanksgiving Night - New Years Eve

Prairie Lights is the premier holiday light park in Texas located at Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake. Upon arriving at the entrance of Prairie Lights, you will be dazzled with 4 million lights set along 2 miles of path. Hundreds of ALL-NEW displays in shapes of all kinds line and arch over the roads. Prairie Lights is a total in-car experience this year. Halfway through you can find drive thru concessions and restrooms. The second half of the drive ends with the very animated light tunnel – the perfect finale to a night you will never forget.

Tianyu Lights Festival

Dates: November 7 - January 18
Location: Texas Trust CU Theatre Grounds

For the first time ever in North Texas The Tianyu Lights Festival will make its debut in Grand Prairie from November 7, 2025, to January 18, 2026! Explore 19 immersive scenes featuring larger-than-life lantern sculptures, plus nightly performances by acrobats and folk performers, and so much more!

Snowy Story Time with the Library
December 4 | 6:30 p.m. | City Hall Parking Lot

Join the Grand Prairie Library for a magical winter evening filled with stories, songs, and snow! Enjoy cozy read-alouds under the twinkle lights, sip hot cocoa from our cocoa station, and dance in the snow at our magical Snow Dance Party. It’s the perfect way for families to make holiday memories together downtown!

Tree Lighting and Parade
December 6 | 6-9 p.m. | City Hall Parking Lot

Kick off the holiday season with joy and sparkle at the Annual Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting on December 6! Enjoy an enchanting evening featuring live carols, a dazzling drone light show, festive vendors, free photos with Santa, and a cheerful holiday parade. Don’t miss the parade, kicking off at 6pm. — a magical celebration of the warmth and wonder of the season in Downtown Grand Prairie!
